Repeat Prescriptions
Our repeat prescription service is a 72 hours service. Please ensure you order your medication in plenty of time to let us and the pharmacy process your request.
If your request is received after 5:30pm on a Friday afternoon, it may not be ready for collection or posting until after 2pm on the following Wednesday.
We now offer the electronic prescribing service. Please let us know if you wish to nominate a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to electronically.
Ordering a Repeat Prescription
When you order a prescription online, you can have it sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination.
The NHS App
Order repeat prescriptions via the NHS App or NHS website, and have them sent to a pharmacy of your choice.
Use Online Services
The easiest way to order your prescription is by using our online services.
Your Local Pharmacy
Pharmacy Ordering / Collection Service
Pharmacies offer a prescription collection service from our Practice
Some pharmacies offer to make repeat requests on your behalf, but please note that this may take 2 to 3 working days longer before your prescription is ready.
About pharmacists
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
In Person
You can order in person by returning the right-hand half of a previous prescription for the required medications.
Or, you can submit a handwritten request. You may also write out an order for someone else. You must include the patient's name, date of birth and requested medication.
By Post
You can post your prescription slip or written request to us at the Practice.
If you're unable to collect your prescription from the surgery, please include a stamped, addressed envelope for return by post. Please allow at least seven days if requesting your medication by post.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, practice nurse or a member of the advanced clinical practice team at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat prescription slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Medication Queries
Please get in touch with the surgery to raise a query about your medication.
